09:49 pm - Spider Web "Although this monster special attack deals no damage, it is widely considered one of the most annoying AOE attacks in Final Fantasy XI."
"What is Spider Web?"
"Correct! Although 'Dispelling Wind' is also an acceptable answer."
"World History for 2,000."
"This city, now called St. Petersburg, underwent a German siege for 18 months during World War II."
"What is Petrograd?"
"Oooh, I am sorry. We cannot accept that."

People always tell me that Spider Web is the most annoying attack in the game, and now I know why. The AOE slow attack can only be removed by Erase, and it will overwrite Haste. Our original plan was for me to Erase the Paladin, while the Bard and the Black Mage tend to the Dragoon and the Dark Knight. It's a nice plan, too bad it lasted all of three battles. After a few battles I was the only one casting Erase, the Black Mage being busy with nuking and the Bard is just being busy. Divine Veil allows me to cast an "Erasega" once every 10 minutes, which was possibly the only thing that kept me sane. Then again, maybe none of this really matters. On more than one occasion, the spider would follow up a Spider Web with, yep, another Spider Web 15 seconds later, thereby "erasing" the Erasega.
Apart from the Erase thing, our party worked pretty well, and no one died to a Sickle Slash. I was a little rusty and slow to remove the spider poison at first, but after awhile I coped much better. Hit 69 and about 3K in buffer. Hopefully I have enough buffer XP for that suicidal Droma run in Fei'Yin...
Noodlism of the Day:
Noodle: Ever seen a tiger with boy parts, come to think of it? I mean, goblins obviously do. Noodle: Those armored ones are just dirty. Midnightx: Only Noodle says these kind of things. Noodle: I do not.
